Cheater or not.

Post by crUx » Thu Oct 11, 2018 3:10 pm

Went to spec after vi3ri complained about this guy and eventually kicked him. Used wrong command !ckick though  .
I thought he had some very fishy moments, but I'm not 100 percent sure.

speced him also before. I am not skilled enough to judge this for real.

Strange is the very high mouse sens during movement, as soon as shooting starts it's like very low sense.

He seems to use a headset, but I don't think he's wallhacking, he gets surprised too often for that.
Some kind of aimbot is hard to tell, his movement doesn't really fit his aim like vi3ri says in the demo, but this could also be caused by not playing et much lately but instead other shooters i guess, so for me based on this demo there is not enough proof for a ban.

I think that he just might be very good. Good strafing and movement

Everyone has a right to have an opinion.
Based on what I saw on the demo I wouldn't say clean or hax 100%. 6.06 and around 2.50 are very suspicious when he shoots the wall just where the enemy is.
If you accuse me of cheating just because I can't tell if he cheats - feel free to post some demos with proof.

I watched the second demo with and without shownormals and I'd say he has wh. Not the most obvious case but still. First at the very start (7:45 ish) he tracks the allied mortar through the wall. Then around the 6:00 he hangs around the alleyway leading to the first allied spawn without any logical reason when theres 2 allied there. And immediately leaves when there are no allies there anymore. Then at about 3:00 he shoots the enemy through the wall... Overall I think he knows way too well when its safe to go around corners and where to aim etc. when he is going around the allied tank spawn and at other spots as well.

Accusations about cheaters are almost a daily occurence on Hirntot. The likes of vi3ri causing a ruckus (ego bruised) is nothing new and he will only make more of these unfounded complaints now that he sees he accomplished getting his bad competitor kicked.

For the record, I half-jokingly applauded you kicking him only because he wouldn't revive or help escort the tug. I've never found the possibility of him having WH to be plausible - I've surprised him around the corner with my panzer too many times for that.

No offense, but if something is fishy then please state what that is. I can look at this demo and see that he's "surprised" by the enemy at 8.29, 5.54, and 5.08, which makes it very unlikely that he's using WH.

At 6.06 he's not shooting. I assume you mean 6.10? Reason he's shooting there is because he spotted the enemy going that direction at 6.13.

At 2.54 (not 2.50) he has a moment where he quickly turns around and fires one bullet into the wall. Nothing conclusive. He probably got spooked by something he heard or thought he heard. Or, it could be because he does these checks automatically (which is consistent with his tactic around the 7.00-6-00 timeframe on this demo where he's checking enemy approaching from both sides).

If he had tracked the mortar then he would not have sat down just before he shot him - he would have ran directly to the mortar. He did a sweep of that area and by coincidence he found the mortar sitting there.

His "logical reason" for hanging around the alleyway is because as mentioned above he's wily enough to realize he will get attacked from both sides. Therefore he's waiting for the allies to spawn at the non-default spawn to check if they will be heading towards him.

The reason he leaves the area is because he spots a teammate coming towards him. Since the teammate can see towards the allied spawn and does not fire his weapon, he assumes the area have now been cleared and moves on.

See answer to Liquid Sn. above regarding the 2.54 time.

There's a difference between "knowing" and being "wary". He knows that it's not safe to go around corners and that's why he checks. It's very easy for the enemy to then cry foul play when all he's doing is being smarter than them. I know the feeling - sometimes I fire my panzer into areas where I can't see the enemy, but where I know there's a good chance they're hiding. I've often been accused of using WH.

Also notice headshooter's movement: he jumps constantly - especially when moving on the snow. This is indicative of a player who wants to make less noise so that he can hear the enemy better and figure out the right way to approach. He’s clever and I agree with mETLA that he’s probably using a headset.

Are you sure that the headshooter of the first demo and the headshotshooter:o from your demo are the same player?
The guy in your demo has extremely well positioning and very smooth movement and aim while the guy from the first demo has a different name and his movement and aim look kinda rusty.

To the timestamps:
The mortar at ~7:45 and the guy behind the corner at ~3:00: those situations can be explained "over-aiming" a bit; in the first situation he wants to preaim to the edges of the tank road and overaims a bit to the right, in the second one he has been shooting the guy already before he hides behind the corner then hears something from his right side, snaps to the stairs and balcony and then snaps back to the corner where he knows someone is still there and overaims a bit again this time to the left. Looks a bit weird especially with shownormals on, but those kind of situations happen pretty often with almost every player.
The only really weird situations were at ~6:05 in my opinion, where he knows that a second guy (maryjane) is coming from the allied backspawn and a bit later where he seems to know that the first one is coming back (hiding at the corner) to revive mj or it could just be lucky speculation.

Conclusion:
His movement is very smooth, he seems to be a decent, experienced player and most of those scenes can be explained, so for me personally there's not enough proof in this demo to validate a ban. I'm still pretty sure that he's wallhacking and maybe also using a very well configured bot, but that assumption is more based on feeling than on actual proof.

My conclusion of the first demo of headshooter is still as above:

And I pretty much doubt that headshooter and headshotshooter:o are the same players.

ET =F|A= banlist mentions a "Headshooter" with IP 86.92.93.100:27960. Unless it matches I say leave the poor guy alone :|
