Hi,

same problem.
It's about one week that I can't connect with Hirntot (and only with this server, I can play in any other server, normally). I'm, stuck on "awaiting gamestate" screen, before entering the game.
In console I have the "failed to resolve etguidauth.evenbalance.com".


I reinstalled ET
I reinstalled PB
Got an etkey
On ET shortcut properties I checked "run as administrator" and "compatibility with Windows XP pack Z".

Nothing, I can't enter in game.

Before definitely give up with the game, there's something I can do?

Try to wait a few minutes in the awaiting gamestate screen.

I waited many minutes, I don't understand why this happens only with Hirntot servers...

I found by googling that adding:

192.246.40.62 etguidauth.evenbalance.com

in the hosts file located in C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc might help. You need to edit it as admin.

Try disabling firewall and antivirus.

Also try adding manually to your cfg if it's not there yet:
pb_sv_enable
pb_sv_guidauth 0

Italy's player having connection problem to hirntot. Try use vpn/tunnel. Same like Zeta.

Player Zeta fixed it by calling his ISP, they did something.

Ok.
Since yesterday everything is fine, successfull connection without changes or tricks. A call center operator of my ISP said that a recent storm in north of Italy had damaged an internet node between Italy and Germany, now restored.

I can play.
